Most people claim summer to be their favorite season of the year and I completely agree. However, no one ever asks why summer is most people’s favorite season. It’s generally just understood. You don’t have school, you might have a vacation planned, maybe you’re planning to work and you’re just excited to make money. Being out of school gives off a freeing feeling that we’re all addicted to. No homework, no tests, no exams, maybe some summer work but that’s not the end of the world. Well, these things are nice but I’m going to touch on why summer is my favorite season and how that ~freeing~ feeling is achieved by my busy schedule.

Summer is…

· Being home from college

· Getting three months to spend with my family

· Finally reading the books I’ve been meaning to read

· Tanning by my pool/Swimming in my pool

· Having a dinner straight off the grill

· Relaxing on the beach with family or friends

· Waking up early to catch the sunrise from my back deck

· Fishing

· Having time to catch up on/finish TV shows

· Babysitting some really cute kiddos

· Making iced tea

· Buying new bathing suits

· Spending time with friends from home

· Enjoying Easton

· Attending amazing concerts with even more amazing friends

· Work week(s) at Tudor Farms (article about this fantastic place coming in August)

· Being a wedding guest

· Visiting my favorite ice cream place

· Celebrating birthdays (mine and other family members)

· Having family in town for several days

· Fish taco dinners

· Seeing/Picking flowers

· Seafood anything :P

· Adventuring in good company

· Shopping for a new summer wardrobe

· Getting crafty in an abundance of ways

· Learning new things

· Picking fresh fruit

· Making new friends

· Watching the sunset with my siblings

· Blowing bubbles with enthusiastic kids

· Reading the Bible on quiet afternoons

This summer, I challenge you to think of the specific reasons you love this beautiful season, especially if it’s your favorite. I’d love to know what adventures and opportunities you all are enjoying so feel free to comment below and let me know!

You who are young, be happy while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see, but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.” (Ecclesiastes 11:9 NIV)
